3/4 cup honey
1 cup water
Lemon juice to taste
3/4 cup honey
1 cup water
Lemon juice to taste
Where to find ingredients
Find fresh guavas at local vegetable markets (sabzi mandi) or premium fruit stalls. Honey and fresh lemons are readily available at any grocery shop or bazaar produce section.
Preparation method
- Place the guava pulp, honey, and water into a large heavy-bottomed pot.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce the heat and allow it to simmer gently for 10 minutes.
- Stir the mixture occasionally and skim off any foam that rises to the surface with a spoon.
- Transfer the cooked mixture into a blender jar.
- Pulse on low speed just enough to break down the pulp without crushing the tough seeds.
- Pass the puree through a fine-mesh sieve set over a mixing bowl.
- Use a wooden spoon to press the mixture through the sieve to extract all the liquid, while catching the seeds and fibrous residue.
- Discard the seeds and pulp remaining in the sieve.
- Finish by stirring the lemon juice into the strained puree.
