3 cups guava pulp removed from the skin
¾ cup honey
1 cup water
Lemon juice to taste
¾ cup honey
1 cup water
Lemon juice to taste
Where to find ingredients
Find fresh guavas at local fruit markets or supermarkets. Honey and lemons are readily available in the produce and baking aisles of any grocery store.
Preparation method
- Place the guava pulp, honey, and water in a large saucepan
- Bring to a boil over medium-high heat
- Reduce the heat to maintain a gentle simmer for 10 minutes
- Stir the contents occasionally and skim off any foam that rises to the top using a spoon
- Transfer the cooked mixture to a blender
- Pulse at low speed just enough to process the pulp without crushing the hard seeds
- Pass the puree through a fine-mesh sieve set over a bowl
- Use a wooden spoon to press the mixture and extract all the liquid, retaining the seeds and excess pulp in the sieve
- Discard the seeds and pulp residue remaining in the sieve
- Finish by incorporating the lemon juice into the strained puree
