Stuffed Meatballs (Almôndega recheada)

Ingredients

Vegetable oil, for frying
1 packet onion soup mix
1 egg
500g ground beef
300g grated mozzarella cheese

Where to find ingredients

Look for the minced beef, egg, and vegetable oil in the meat, dairy, and cooking oil sections of local supermarkets or neighborhood groceries. Onion soup mix is usually found in the dry soup or seasoning aisle, and mozzarella can be bought grated from the dairy counter or cheese section.

Preparation method

  1. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, the egg, and the packet of onion soup mix until you have a smooth mixture
  2. Take small portions of the meat mixture and flatten them in the palm of your hand
  3. Place a quantity of grated mozzarella cheese in the centre of the open mixture
  4. Carefully close the mixture around the cheese, shaping it into a meatball
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat
  6. Fry the meatballs in the hot oil for about 10 minutes, or until they are golden on all sides and cooked through

Observations

Stuffed meatballs are a classic Brazilian dish, perfect for anyone looking for big flavour and convenience. The combination of juicy ground beef with melted mozzarella inside makes this recipe irresistible. It’s ideal for family meals or for serving as a snack.
