1 liter milk
1 small bottle coconut milk
100 g unsweetened dried shredded coconut
6 tbsp cornstarch
8 tbsp sugar
1 small bottle coconut milk
100 g unsweetened dried shredded coconut
6 tbsp cornstarch

Where to find ingredients
Look for coconut milk, cornstarch, sugar, desiccated coconut, and dairy milk in the baking aisle, the canned goods section, and the chilled dairy section of supermarkets or neighborhood grocery stores. If needed, substitute unsweetened desiccated coconut for the dried shredded coconut.
Preparation method
- Combine the milk, sugar, coconut milk, and shredded coconut in a saucepan.
- Dissolve the cornstarch in a small amount of the reserved milk.
- Add the dissolved cornstarch to the mixture in the saucepan.
- Place over medium heat.
- Stir constantly until the cream thickens.
- Cook for one more minute after it starts to boil.
- Transfer the mixture to a decorative mold previously greased with oil or simply moistened with water.
- Let the dessert cool.
- Refrigerate for 2 hours until set.
- Unmold and serve with plum syrup or strawberries.
