Ingredients
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
100 g unsalted margarine
1/2 cup ground walnuts
100 g semisweet chocolate
2 tablespoons corn syrup
3 tablespoons whole milk
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
100 g unsalted margarine
1/2 cup ground walnuts
100 g semisweet chocolate
2 tablespoons corn syrup
3 tablespoons whole milk
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
Where to find ingredients
Look for the ingredients in the baking aisle, the flour section, and the nuts and chocolate shelves of your local supermarket, or at a neighbourhood grocer. If needed, a corn syrup substitute can be used, but keep the original ingredient as the first choice.
Preparation method
- In a bowl, mix the cornstarch, flour, sugar, margarine and ground walnuts until a smooth dough forms
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (medium heat)
- Grease and flour a baking tray
- Shape small balls of dough and place them on the prepared tray
- Bake for about 10 minutes, or until the biscuits are lightly golden
- While the biscuits bake, prepare the filling: place the chopped semisweet chocolate, corn syrup, milk and butter in a bain-marie over low heat
- Stir constantly until you get a thick, smooth cream
- Remove the filling from the heat and let it cool slightly
- Once the biscuits have cooled, sandwich them together two by two with the chocolate filling
