Ingredients
1 tin condensed milk
1 jar peanut butter
1 packet (200 g) Maria biscuits (or plain tea biscuits)
1 tablespoon margarine
1 jar peanut butter
1 packet (200 g) Maria biscuits (or plain tea biscuits)
1 tablespoon margarine
Where to find ingredients
Condensed milk and margarine can be found in the baking aisle of any local supermarket. Peanut butter is readily available in the spreads section; look for a creamy variety to get the best texture. For the Maria biscuits or tea biscuits, check the biscuit or international foods aisle of your local grocery store; if you can't find the specific brand, any plain, dry, non-flavoured tea biscuit or digestive biscuit will work perfectly as a substitute.
Preparation method
- Pulse the biscuits in a food processor until you get a fine crumb
- In a mixing bowl, combine the condensed milk and margarine, beating until the mixture is smooth and well-blended
- Gradually fold in the peanut butter while continuing to beat the mixture
- Transfer the mixture out of the bowl onto a clean surface or into a large mixing bowl
- Slowly add the biscuit crumbs to the mix, working the dough by hand until all ingredients are fully incorporated and the texture is firm enough to mould
- Press the mixture firmly into a glass baking dish or square container
- Pop it in the fridge to set overnight, or for at least 8 hours, until it is nice and firm
- Cut the paçoquinha into small squares before serving
