Where to find ingredients
You can find fresh cheese, ground beef, and common pantry staples at any local grocery store or butcher shop. If fresh cheese is unavailable, mozzarella or a firm white cheese can be used as a substitute.
Preparation method
- Season the cheese cubes with oregano and set aside.
- In a bowl, mix the ground beef, chopped onion, crushed garlic, chopped parsley, and salt.
- Add the wheat flour little by little, mixing well until you obtain a homogeneous and consistent dough.
- Take small portions of the meat dough, flatten it in the palm of your hand, and place a seasoned cheese cube in the center.
- Close the dough carefully, shaping and rolling it to form the meatballs.
- Arrange the meatballs in a baking dish and place them in an oven preheated to 180°C for approximately 20 minutes, or until they are golden and cooked through.
- While the meatballs are baking, heat the tomato sauce.
- Serve the meatballs hot, drizzled with the heated tomato sauce.
