1 packet desiccated coconut (100 g)
Where to find ingredients
Look for sweetened condensed milk, sugar, and desiccated coconut in the baking aisle or canned goods section of a supermarket, or at a neighbourhood grocer or market stall. If needed, substitute desiccated coconut for unsweetened shredded coconut.
Preparation method
- In a saucepan, mix the condensed milk, sugar, and shredded coconut
- Cook over low heat, stirring constantly
- Cook for about 15 minutes, or until the mixture starts to come away from the bottom of the pan
- Pour the mixture onto a smooth, greased surface, such as a marble countertop or a baking pan
- Smooth the surface with a greased rolling pin, if needed
- Let it cool completely
- Cut the cocada into squares or any shape you like
