1 can of sweetened condensed milk (395 g)
Where to find ingredients
Sweetened condensed milk can be found in the baking or canned goods aisle of most grocery stores and supermarkets.
Preparation method
- Remove the paper label from the condensed milk can.
- Using a small knife, remove any glue residue to avoid clogging the pressure cooker valve.
- Place the condensed milk can inside the pressure cooker.
- Add enough water to the pot to cover the can, ensuring there is about two fingers of water above it.
- Close the pressure cooker and place it over medium heat.
- As soon as the pot begins to whistle (hiss), reduce the heat if necessary and cook for 20 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and wait for the steam to release naturally. Do not force the steam out.
- Once all the pressure has been released, carefully open the lid of the pot.
- Use tongs to remove the hot can from the pot to avoid burns.
- Let the can cool completely for at least 2 hours before opening.
- For best results, prepare the dulce de leche the day before serving.
