Where to find ingredients
Ground nuts can be found in the baking aisle or health food sections of supermarkets. Chocolate powder is usually in the hot drinks or baking aisle. Condensed milk and double cream are in the dairy aisle. Unflavoured gelatine is typically in the baking aisle.
Preparation method
- Separate the egg yolks from the egg whites
- In a cold saucepan, combine the milk and the sieved egg yolks
- Add the chocolate powder and condensed milk
- Cook over a medium heat for approximately 15 minutes, stirring continuously, until a thick cream is obtained
- Remove the saucepan from the heat
- Stir in the ground nuts and the double cream
- Add the dissolved unflavoured gelatine
- Gently fold in the whipped egg whites until a homogeneous mixture is achieved
- Transfer the mixture to a freezer-safe dish
- Place in the freezer for approximately 2 hours, until it reaches a mousse consistency
- Monitor to prevent the mixture from freezing solid
- Decorate the surface with whole nuts before serving
- Keep the dessert refrigerated after the first serving
