Ingredients
30 g fresh cheese, cut into cubes
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 teaspoon oregano
100 g lean ground beef
1/2 onion, chopped
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
Salt, to taste
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/2 can tomato sauce
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 teaspoon oregano
100 g lean ground beef
1/2 onion, chopped
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
Salt, to taste
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/2 can tomato sauce
Where to find ingredients
Look for the ingredients at supermarkets, the butcher counter, and the fresh produce section. If fresh cheese is unavailable, a mild white cheese can be used as a substitute.
Preparation method
- Season the cheese cubes with oregano and set aside
- In a bowl, mix the ground beef, chopped onion, crushed garlic, chopped parsley, and salt
- Add the all-purpose flour little by little, mixing well until you have a smooth mixture that holds together
- Take small portions of the meat mixture, flatten them in your palm, and place a seasoned cheese cube in the center
- Carefully seal the mixture, shaping and rolling it into meatballs
- Place the meatballs on a baking tray and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 20 minutes, or until they are golden and cooked through
- While the meatballs bake, heat the tomato sauce
- Serve the meatballs hot, drizzled with the warmed tomato sauce
