Peach Pavé (Pavê de pessego)

Ingredients

1 litre milk
2 cans sweetened condensed milk
1 egg
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 packet champagne biscuits
1 can peaches in syrup
1 can heavy cream
3 tablespoons sugar

Where to find ingredients

Look for the ingredients in the dairy aisle, baking section, and canned fruit shelves at supermarkets or grocery shops. If needed, use ladyfingers as a substitute for champagne biscuits.

Preparation method

  1. Combine the cornstarch, milk, sweetened condensed milk and egg in a saucepan.
  2. Cook over low heat.
  3. Stir constantly until the mixture thickens and reaches a porridge-like consistency.
  4. Line the bottom of a glass dish with a layer of champagne biscuits.
  5. Pour the cream over the biscuits while it is still hot.
  6. Cut the peaches into medium-sized cubes.
  7. Spread the peach cubes over the cream layer.
  8. Prepare the topping by beating the sugar with the heavy cream in a separate bowl.
  9. Cover the peach layer with this mixture.
  10. Protect the dish with aluminium foil.
  11. Let it chill for at least 6 hours before serving.
  12. Serve chilled.
  13. Enjoy the layered dessert.

Observations

This dessert is ideal for family lunches, balancing creamy textures with bright fruit flavour. Follow the steps carefully to achieve the perfect consistency and an even finish.
