Ingredients
2 whole racks of beef ribs
6 cloves of garlic, crushed
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Salt to taste
Beef stock (optional)
6 cloves of garlic, crushed
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Salt to taste
Beef stock (optional)
Where to find ingredients
Beef ribs can be sourced from local butcher shops or the meat counter at major supermarkets. For the best result, look for well-marbled cuts. Beef stock is available in the grocery aisle as cubes or liquid cartons.
Preparation method
- Season the rib racks thoroughly with the crushed garlic, lemon juice, and salt.
- Place the seasoned meat into a roasting tray.
- Cover the tray tightly with aluminum foil.
- Place in a preheated oven at medium heat (approximately 180°C) and roast for 3 hours.
- Remove the aluminum foil from the tray.
- Continue roasting, turning the meat occasionally and basting with the beef stock (if using) or the pan juices until golden brown.
- If the pan drippings dry out, add a splash of boiling water to prevent sticking and to create a richer pan sauce.
Observations
Slow-roasted beef ribs are the ultimate comfort food, perfect for family gatherings or celebratory meals. This recipe uses whole racks of beef ribs, roasted until the meat is falling off the bone with a beautifully caramelized exterior. Although the process requires patience, the method is refreshingly simple, relying on basic seasonings that allow the deep, natural flavor of the beef to shine through.
