Where to find ingredients
Purchase ingredients at your local supermarket or grocery store. Specialty chocolate candy bars can often be found in the candy aisle.
Method
- For the first layer, mix 1 can of sweetened condensed milk with half of the whole milk
- Add the egg yolks from the two eggs and 2 tablespoons of margarine
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until a thick cream forms
- Pour this cream into a baking dish
- Distribute 2 chopped candy bars over the cream and place in the freezer to set
- For the second layer, combine the second can of sweetened condensed milk with the remaining milk
- Add the other 2 tablespoons of margarine and the chocolate milk mix powder
- Cook over heat, stirring until a creamy brigadeiro consistency forms, without letting it thicken too much
- Spread this brigadeiro over the first layer, which should be firm in the baking dish
- Distribute 2 more chopped candy bars over this layer
- Return to the freezer for a short period to ensure layer separation
- For the third layer, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form
- Gently incorporate the sugar and then the table cream
- Spread this topping over the previous layers
- Finish by decorating with the remaining 2 chopped candy bars
- Refrigerate in the freezer until ready to serve
Notes
A dessert assembled in three distinct layers, perfect for serving on special occasions. The secret is to respect the chilling time between layers to ensure a well-defined structure.
