Ingredients
2 whole racks of beef ribs
6 cloves garlic, crushed
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Salt to taste
Beef stock (optional)
6 cloves garlic, crushed
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Salt to taste
Beef stock (optional)
Where to find ingredients
Look for beef ribs at the butcher counter or in the fresh meat section of the supermarket; garlic, lemon, salt, and beef stock are usually found in the produce aisle, pantry shelves, or stock cubes and broth section. If needed, beef stock can be substituted with a light homemade broth.
Preparation method
- Season the rib racks with the crushed garlic, lemon juice, and salt
- Place the seasoned meat in a baking pan
- Cover the pan tightly with foil
- Bake in a preheated medium oven (about 180°C) for 3 hours
- Remove the foil
- Keep roasting for longer, turning the meat occasionally and basting with the beef stock (if using) or the pan juices, until well browned
- If the juices in the pan dry out, add a little boiling water to prevent sticking and to create more sauce
Observations
Slow-roasted beef ribs are a comforting, flavorful dish, ideal for family gatherings and celebrations. This recipe uses whole racks of beef ribs, roasted until the meat turns tender enough to pull apart, with a golden, appetizing crust. Although it takes time, the method is remarkably simple and relies on basic seasonings that bring out the meat’s natural flavor.
