1 liter of milk
300 grams of ground walnuts
400 grams of chocolate drink powder
2 cans of sweetened condensed milk
3 packages of 200 grams of table cream
1 packet of unflavored gelatin, dissolved according to instructions
Where to find ingredients
You can find these ingredients at local grocery stores and supermarkets. Unflavored gelatin and table cream are typically found in the baking and dairy aisles, respectively. If unavailable, heavy cream is a suitable substitute for table cream.
Preparation method
- Separate the egg yolks from the whites
- In a cold saucepan, combine the milk and the egg yolks, passing them through a sieve
- Add the chocolate drink powder and the sweetened condensed milk
- Cook over medium heat for about 15 minutes, stirring continuously until a thick cream forms
- Remove the pan from the heat
- Incorporate the ground walnuts and the table cream
- Add the previously dissolved unflavored gelatin
- Gently fold in the whipped egg whites until the mixture is homogeneous
- Transfer the mixture to a serving dish
- Place in the freezer for approximately 2 hours until it reaches a mousse consistency
- Monitor carefully to prevent the mixture from freezing solid
- Decorate the surface with whole walnuts before serving
- Keep the dessert in the refrigerator after serving for the first time
Observations
A practical and elegant dessert, perfect for serving after meals. The secret lies in delicately folding in the whipped egg whites to ensure the mousse remains light and airy.
