Ingredients
Vegetable oil, for frying
1 packet onion soup mix
1 egg
500 g minced beef
300 g grated mozzarella cheese
1 packet onion soup mix
1 egg
500 g minced beef
300 g grated mozzarella cheese
Where to find ingredients
Look for the mince, eggs and mozzarella in the supermarket meat, dairy and cheese aisles; the onion soup mix is usually in the soup or seasoning section. Vegetable oil is found with the cooking oils. If needed, use shredded mozzarella as a substitute for grated mozzarella.
Preparation method
- In a large bowl, mix the minced beef, the egg and the packet of onion soup mix until you have a smooth mixture
- Take small portions of the meat mixture and flatten them in the palm of your hand
- Place a quantity of grated mozzarella cheese in the centre of the open mixture
- Carefully close the mixture around the cheese, shaping it into a meatball
- Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat
- Fry the meatballs in the hot oil for about 10 minutes, or until they are golden on all sides and cooked through
Observations
Stuffed meatballs are a classic Brazilian dish, perfect for anyone looking for flavour and convenience. The combination of juicy minced beef with melted mozzarella hidden inside makes this recipe irresistible. It is ideal for family meals or as a snack to share.
