Where to find ingredients
Fresh shrimp, vegetables, and staples are available at local supermarkets and fishmongers. Cassava can be found in the frozen or produce sections of ethnic grocers. Red palm oil (azeite de dendê) is available at specialty international food stores; there is no direct substitute that mimics its unique flavour and colour.
Preparation method
- Wash the shrimp thoroughly
- Season the shrimp with salt, garlic, black pepper, and lemon juice
