Ingredients
2 artichokes
2 tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons white wine vinegar
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons white wine vinegar
Salt to taste
Where to find ingredients
Fresh artichokes can usually be found in the produce section of most supermarkets. If you can't find fresh ones, look for frozen artichoke hearts, though the cooking method might need adjustment. Butter, white wine vinegar, and salt are pantry staples found in any grocery store.
Preparation method
- Trim the stalk off the artichoke if it's present
- Place the artichokes stem-side up inside the pressure cooker
- Arrange the artichokes so the petals face the bottom of the pot
- Add water until the artichokes are covered
- Make sure not to fill past the maximum fill line of your pressure cooker
- Close the lid and place on high heat
- Reduce heat to low as soon as the cooker starts to whistle
- Cook under pressure for 10 minutes
- Prepare the sauce by melting the butter in the microwave
- Combine the melted butter with two tablespoons of water and the vinegar
- Add salt to your liking and mix well
- Turn off the heat once the cooking time is up
- Wait for the pressure to release completely before opening the cooker
- Remove the artichokes and serve with the prepared sauce
Observations
Artichokes are an elegant and delicious vegetable. The pressure cooking method speeds up the process, making this dish a viable option for your weeknights. Serve with a simple butter sauce to bring out the natural flavour of the petals.
