1 can (measured using the condensed milk can) of concentrated passion fruit juice
1 cup of sugar
1 can of table cream
Where to find ingredients
Condensed milk, table cream (often found in the international or Latin American aisle), and concentrated passion fruit juice can be found in most supermarkets. Fresh passion fruit may be available in specialty produce markets; as a substitute, frozen passion fruit pulp (without seeds) can be used.
Preparation method
- In a blender, add the condensed milk, table cream, and concentrated passion fruit juice
- Blend until you achieve a smooth and creamy mixture
- Transfer the mixture to a nice serving dish or individual bowls
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until it sets firmly
- If you wish to speed up the process, you can place it in the freezer for about 30-40 minutes
- While the mousse chills, prepare the syrup: in a saucepan, combine the sugar and water
- Place over medium heat and cook until the sugar dissolves and it forms a thin syrup
- Add the passion fruit pulp to the syrup, stirring gently
- Cook for another 1 or 2 minutes, just enough to warm through and integrate the flavors
- Remove from heat
- Once the mousse has set, pour the passion fruit syrup over the top before serving
