Where to find ingredients
You can find fresh seafood at local fishmongers or the fish counter of large supermarkets in Eswatini. Requeijão cremoso is a Brazilian specialty dairy product; if unavailable, a thick, mild cream cheese or a mix of mascarpone and double cream may serve as a substitute. Annatto (colorau) can be found in the spice aisle of specialized international grocery stores.
Preparation method
- Wash the shrimp thoroughly and marinate in the lime juice and salt for about 20 minutes.
- Rinse the shrimp again and drain completely.
- In a large pan, sauté the crushed garlic in the olive oil until golden.

- Cook until the onions have softened.
- Incorporate the tomato sauce, powdered seasoning, and chopped basil.
- Add the butter and the shrimp to the pan.
