Preparation method
- Prepare the caramel by melting the 2 tablespoons of sugar in a large ring pan
- Spread the caramel evenly over the bottom and sides of the pan
- Cut the bread rolls into slices about 2 cm thick
- Arrange the bread slices on the bottom of the caramelised pan
- Blend the milk, eggs, and 2 cups of sugar in a blender until smooth
- Mix the lemon zest into the liquid
- Pour the mixture over the bread pieces in the pan
- Bake in a preheated oven in a water bath for 30 minutes
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before carefully unmoulding
