Ingredients
2 artichokes
2 tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons white wine vinegar
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons white wine vinegar
Salt to taste
Where to find ingredients
Artichokes can typically be found in the produce section of most supermarkets. Look for fresh, firm artichokes with tightly closed leaves. If fresh artichokes are unavailable, some stores may carry canned or jarred artichoke hearts, which can be used in other recipes but are not suitable for this specific preparation method. Butter, white wine vinegar, and salt are standard pantry staples available in any grocery store.
Preparation method
- Remove the stem from the artichoke if present
- Place the artichokes upside down inside the pressure cooker
- The petals should face the bottom of the pot
- Add water to cover the artichokes
- Respect your pot's maximum fill line
- Close the pot and place over high heat
- Reduce to low heat as soon as the pot starts to whistle
- Cook for 10 minutes under pressure
- Prepare the sauce by melting the butter in the microwave
- Combine the melted butter with two tablespoons of water and the vinegar
- Add salt to taste and mix well
- Turn off the heat after the cooking time
- Wait for the pressure to fully release before opening
- Remove the artichokes and serve with the prepared sauce
Observations
Artichokes are an elegant and delicious vegetable. The pressure cooking method speeds up the cooking process, making this dish a viable option for everyday meals. Serving with a simple butter sauce enhances the natural flavor of the petals.
