Ingredients
30 g cubed fresh cheese
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 teaspoon oregano
100 g lean minced beef
1/2 onion, chopped
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon wheat flour
1/2 can tomato sauce
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 teaspoon oregano
100 g lean minced beef
1/2 onion, chopped
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon wheat flour
1/2 can tomato sauce
Where to find ingredients
Look for the ingredients in the meat counter, dairy section, produce aisle, and bakery shelves of your local supermarket or market. If fresh cheese is hard to find, use a mild firm cheese as a substitute.
Preparation method
- Season the cheese cubes with oregano and set aside.
- In a bowl, combine the minced beef, chopped onion, crushed garlic, chopped parsley, and salt.
- Add the wheat flour little by little, mixing well until you have a smooth mixture that holds together.
- Take small portions of the meat mixture, flatten them in your palm, and place a seasoned cheese cube in the centre.
- Carefully close the mixture, shaping and rolling it to form the meatballs.
- Arrange the meatballs on a baking tray and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 20 minutes, or until golden and cooked through.
- While the meatballs bake, heat the tomato sauce.
- Serve the meatballs hot, drizzled with the warmed tomato sauce.
