Where to find ingredients
Look for Brazilian ingredients such as requeijão, goiabada, guaraná soda, calabresa, cassava flour, tapioca starch, cachaça and jiló in Brazilian or Latin American grocers, international food shops, gourmet supermarkets and online speciality grocery sections. Standard produce, dairy, meat and pantry items are usually available in supermarkets, wet markets and neighbourhood grocery stores. If needed, use only clearly labelled substitutes here: cream cheese for requeijão, chorizo-style smoked sausage for calabresa, and panko or dry breadcrumbs where farinha de rosca is unavailable.
Preparation method
- Add o leite, o olive oil, os ovos, o sal, o cheese ralado e o polvilho doce no copo do liquidificador
- Bata todos os ingredientes until alcançar uma dough lisa e homogênea
- Prepare forminhas de empada ou de pão de cheese untando-as com butter ou margarine
- Arrange a dough nas formas preenchendo apenas until a metade da capacidade
- Place no preheated oven
- Let assar until que os pães estejam com uma coloração well dourada
Observations
This is an easy way to prepare a tasty snack with little effort. The result is light cheese breads with a soft centre and an irresistibly golden crust.
