2 cups sugar
3 egg yolks
3 medium apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced

Where to find ingredients
Look for self-raising flour, butter or margarine, sugar, eggs, apples, oranges, honey, and cinnamon in the flour, baking, dairy, fruit, and condiment sections of supermarkets or local grocery shops.
Preparation method
- In a bowl, mix the self-raising flour, butter or margarine, 2 cups of sugar, and the egg yolks
- Using your fingertips or two forks, work the mixture until you have a uniform crumbly texture
- Grease a medium baking dish with butter or margarine and dust with a little flour, if desired
- Place half of the crumbly dough in the dish, spreading and pressing firmly with a spoon to form an even base
- Arrange the thin apple slices over the dough base
- In a small bowl, mix the orange juice with the honey and drizzle it over the apples
- Cover the apples with the remaining crumbly dough, spreading it gently without pressing down
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 30-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown
- Remove the pie from the oven and, while still hot, sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon mixture generously over the top
- Let it cool slightly before serving. The pie can be enjoyed warm or cold
