Where to find ingredients
Look for the ingredients in the baking aisle, dairy section, and egg section at any supermarket or local grocery store. If needed, use chocolate drink mix as a substitute for achocolatado em pó.
Preparation method
- In a saucepan, mix the condensed milk, full cream milk, egg yolks (reserve the whites), chocolate drink mix and a few drops of vanilla
- Place the saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens into a custard
- Remove from the heat and set aside the chocolate custard
- Using an electric mixer, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form
- Gradually add the sugar to the whipped egg whites, continuing to beat until you have a meringue
- Without beating, gently fold the sour cream into the meringue with bottom-to-top movements
- Combine the reserved chocolate custard with the egg white and sour cream mixture, folding gently to incorporate
- Pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container
- Freeze until completely firm and frozen
- Serve the chocolate ice cream cake well chilled
