Creamy rice pudding (Arroz doce)

Ingredients

1 cups of rice
1 e 1/2 litros of water fria
1 pedaço of lemon peel
1 cans of condensed milk
Ground cinnamon for dusting

Where to find ingredients

Look for Brazilian ingredients such as requeijão, goiabada, guaraná soda, calabresa, cassava flour, tapioca starch, cachaça and jiló in Brazilian or Latin American grocers, international food shops, gourmet supermarkets and online speciality grocery sections. Standard produce, dairy, meat and pantry items are usually available in supermarkets, wet markets and neighbourhood grocery stores. If needed, use only clearly labelled substitutes here: cream cheese for requeijão, chorizo-style smoked sausage for calabresa, and panko or dry breadcrumbs where farinha de rosca is unavailable.

Preparation method

  1. Em uma panela grande, coloque o rice, a water e a casca de limão
  2. Take a panela to the heat e deixe ferver
  3. Reduce para low heat e cozinhe until que o rice esteja macio e quase toda a water tenha secado
  4. Add o leite condensado à panela
  5. Mix well todos os ingredientes
  6. Remove do fogo assim que a mistura estiver homogênea
  7. Finish polvilhando canela em pó por cima to taste antes de servir
