Where to find ingredients
Ingredients can be found at most grocery stores. Specialty spices like paprika and cumin are often available in the spice aisle.
Preparation method
- Remove the beef from the refrigerator a little before you start so it reaches room temperature
- Place the water to boil over low heat
- Wash the green beans thoroughly
- Remove the ends and cut them into 1.5 cm pieces, using a diagonal cut
- Chop the onion into 1 cm cubes
- Peel and finely chop the garlic
- Heat a large pot or skillet over medium heat
- Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and spread the beef in small portions in the pan
- Let the beef brown without stirring for 1 minute
- Season with salt, pepper, and sprinkle the flour over the beef
- Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally so the pieces loosen and brown evenly
- Place the browned beef in a bowl and set aside
- Keep the pot on the heat and add the remaining olive oil and the onion
- Add a pinch of salt and sauté the onion for 2 minutes until soft
- Add the green beans to the pot
- Season with salt and pepper and sauté for 2 minutes until lightly browned, maintaining a crunchy texture
- Add the garlic, paprika, and cumin
- Sauté for another 1 minute until the aroma of the spices is released
- Pour the hot water in gradually while scraping the bottom of the pot with a spatula
- Return the ground beef to the pot
- Cook for another 2 minutes until the sauce thickens
- Serve immediately
Observations
This dish is an excellent option for daily meals, balancing the protein from the beef with the crunchiness and freshness of the green beans. Follow the instructions to ensure the beef browns perfectly before incorporating the vegetables.
