Where to find ingredients
Look for the rice, garlic, onion, salt and cooking oil in the dry goods, produce and seasoning sections of your local supermarket, or at the open market. If needed, use a neutral cooking oil as a substitute for azeite.
Preparation method
- Sauté the crushed garlic and chopped onion in a little cooking oil in a pot
- Add the washed rice to the pot and fry for about 30 seconds, stirring constantly
- Pour the boiling water into the pot and season with salt to taste
- Lower the heat to the lowest setting and cook until the water has almost dried up
- Cover the pot and remove from the heat. Wait about 20 minutes for the rice to finish steaming and become nice and fluffy before serving
- If you want to make a larger batch, simply multiply the ingredients and follow the same steps, especially the water ratio
