Ingredients
1 pack of small ready-made pastry dough
1 egg yolk
1 can of condensed milk
100 g shredded coconut
1 egg yolk
1 can of condensed milk
100 g shredded coconut
Where to find ingredients
Look for ready-made pastry discs in the refrigerated dough or baking aisle, and buy shredded coconut and condensed milk in the baking section or sweetened dairy aisle. Egg is available at any local market or supermarket; if needed, a similar egg yolk-based custard substitute may be used only as a backup, but the original ingredient is preferred.
Preparation method
- Line the base and sides of each pastry disc in a small tart tin, with no need to grease it
- Press the dough well to remove all the air and make sure it holds its shape
- In a bowl, mix the egg yolk, condensed milk and shredded coconut until smooth and creamy
- Fill the tart shells with the cocada cream right to the top
- Bake in a preheated oven at a medium-low temperature until golden
- Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, unmould and serve warm or cold
