Ingredients
1 packet of pineapple-flavored gelatin
2 packets of strawberry-flavored gelatin
2 cups of boiling water
2 cups of chilled Coca-Cola
1 can of light table cream (drained of whey)
2 packets of strawberry-flavored gelatin
2 cups of boiling water
2 cups of chilled Coca-Cola
1 can of light table cream (drained of whey)
Where to find ingredients
You can find all these ingredients in major supermarkets in Malawi, such as Shoprite or Chipiku Stores. Look for the baking and canned goods sections. Table cream (often labeled as 'dessert cream') is commonly available in the canned goods aisle. If you cannot find light table cream, standard long-life table cream is a suitable substitute.
Preparation method
- Dissolve the pineapple gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water and set aside.
- Dissolve the two packets of strawberry gelatin together in 1 cup of boiling water and set aside.
- Place the light table cream, the dissolved pineapple gelatin, and the chilled Coca-Cola into a blender.
- Blend all the ingredients thoroughly until the mixture is completely homogeneous.
- Pour the mixture into a mold (lightly rinsed with cold water to make unmolding easier) or into individual serving glasses.
- Refrigerate for approximately 3 hours, or until it has set firmly.
- Unmold carefully, if necessary, and decorate as desired before serving.
Observations
This Coca-Cola mousse is an incredibly simple yet surprisingly flavorful dessert, ideal for those who value convenience without compromising on taste. By blending the distinctive fizz of Coca-Cola with the sweetness of fruit-flavored gelatin, the result is a light, airy texture that is widely enjoyed. It serves as a popular choice for rounding off a meal or as a crowd-pleasing option for informal gatherings, as it can be prepared well in advance and served either in individual portions or as a large shareable dish.
