Where to find ingredients
Chicken breast is available at any local supermarket meat aisle or butcher shop. For the breadcrumbs, look in the baking or international foods aisle—standard dry breadcrumbs work perfectly here. Chicken bouillon cubes are easily found in the spice or soup aisle of most grocery stores. Oregano is a staple in the herb and spice section. Vegetable oil for frying can be found in the pantry or baking aisle, with sunflower or canola oil being great choices for their high smoke points.
Preparation method
- Pour the water into a pot and drop in the chicken bouillon cubes
- Bring the liquid to a boil over medium-high heat
- Dice your chicken breast into bite-sized pieces
- Add the chicken cubes to the boiling stock and cook for 5 minutes
- Remove the chicken pieces from the pot, drain well, and let them cool down for a few minutes
- While the chicken is cooling, whisk the eggs in a bowl along with the oregano and salt
- Dip each piece of poached chicken into the egg mixture until well coated
- Coat the chicken evenly in the breadcrumbs, ensuring all sides are covered
- Heat enough oil in a pan over medium-high heat to deep-fry the nuggets
- Fry the breaded nuggets for 2 to 3 minutes until they turn golden brown and crispy
- Remove the finished nuggets from the pan and drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil
