Quick Chocolate Cake (Bolo rápido de chocolate)

Ingredients

4 eggs
1 cup milk
1 tin condensed milk
4 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons margarine
1 1/2 cups flour
3 tablespoons cornflour
1 tablespoon baking powder
200 g chopped chocolate

Where to find ingredients

In Samoa, condensed milk, flour, cornflour, sugar and baking powder are found in supermarket baking aisles. Eggs, milk and margarine are in the chilled section, while block or baking chocolate works well for chopping.

Preparation method

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 180°C
  2. Put the eggs, milk, condensed milk, sugar, margarine, flour, cornflour and baking powder in the blender and blend well until smooth
  3. Prepare a tin about 22 cm in diameter, lightly greasing it with margarine
  4. Pour only half the batter into the tin and scatter the chopped chocolate over it
  5. Finish by covering everything with the remaining batter
  6. Bake for about 40 minutes, or until the cake is golden and properly baked through
  7. Remove from the oven, let the cake cool a little and carefully turn it out to serve

Observations

This is a very practical recipe, just right when you want a sweet treat made quickly in the blender. Condensed milk in the batter gives the cake a special texture and an extra touch of sweetness.
