Ingredients
1 can (395g) condensed milk
Where to find ingredients
Condensed milk can be found in the tinned goods aisle of any supermarket. Ensure you purchase the full-fat variety for the best texture.
Preparation method
- Remove the paper label from the condensed milk can
- With a small knife, remove any glue residue to prevent clogging the cooker's valve
- Place the condensed milk can inside the pressure cooker
- Add water to the cooker until the can is covered, leaving about two fingers of water above it
- Close the pressure cooker and place over medium heat
- As soon as the cooker starts to hiss (whistle), reduce the heat if necessary and cook for 20 minutes
- Turn off the heat and wait for the steam to escape naturally. Do not force the steam out
- When all the pressure has escaped, carefully open the cooker lid
- Use tongs to remove the hot can from the cooker, avoiding burns
- Let the can cool completely for at least 2 hours before opening
- For best results, prepare the milk sweet the day before consuming
