Ingredients

5 eggs
2 cups (tea) sugar
100 g walnuts (shelled and ground)
100 g semi-sweet chocolate (grated)
1 cup (tea) boiling milk
2 cups (tea) all-purpose flour
1 level tablespoon baking powder
300 g butter
1 can sweetened condensed milk
3 tablespoons instant coffee
1/2 cup cognac

Preparation

  1. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form
  2. Incorporate the egg yolks one by one
  3. Gradually add the sugar
  4. Add the ground walnuts

  6. Add the boiling milk
  7. Gently fold in the all-purpose flour previously sifted with the baking powder
  8. Transfer the batter into a greased round cake pan
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 40 minutes
  10. Remove from the oven
  11. Unmold and wait for it to cool completely
  12. For the filling
  13. Beat the butter until it reaches a creamy texture
  14. Dilute the instant coffee in 1 tablespoon of hot water
  15. Add the sweetened condensed milk and the diluted coffee to the butter little by little
  16. Beat until a homogeneous cream is formed
  17. Slice the cake in half horizontally
  18. Drizzle both cake layers with the cognac
  19. Spread a layer of the frosting in the center
  20. Cover the entire surface of the cake with the remaining cream
