Ingredients

5 eggs
2 cups sugar
100g walnuts, shelled and ground
100g semi-sweet chocolate, grated
1 cup boiling milk
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 level tablespoon baking powder
300g butter
1 can sweetened condensed milk
3 tablespoons instant coffee
1/2 cup cognac

Preparation

  1. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form
  2. Incorporate the egg yolks one by one
  3. Gradually add the sugar
  4. Add the ground walnuts
  5. Add the grated chocolate
  6. Add the boiling milk
  7. Gently fold in the flour
  8. Add the baking powder that has been previously sifted together with the flour

  17. Add the condensed milk and the dissolved coffee to the butter little by little
  18. Continue beating until you form a smooth

  21. Drizzle both cake layers with the cognac
  22. Spread a layer of the frosting in the center
  23. Cover the entire surface of the cake with the remaining cream
