Preparation method
- Prepare the syrup by melting the 2 tablespoons of sugar in a large mold with a central hole
- Spread the caramel well over the bottom and sides of the mold
- Cut the bread rolls into slices approximately 2 cm thick
- Arrange the bread slices at the bottom of the caramelized mold
- Beat the milk with the eggs and 2 cups of sugar in a blender until you get a homogeneous mixture
- Incorporate the lemon zest into the liquid
- Pour the mixture over the bread pieces in the mold
- Bake in a preheated oven in a water bath for 30 minutes
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before carefully unmolding
