Where to find ingredients
Minced beef, ham, mozzarella, olives and Parmesan are available from supermarkets, meat shops and groceries. Mozzarella is the ideal cheese; a mild melting cheese can be used only as a substitute.
Preparation method
- Place the minced beef in a large bowl
- Add the garlic and chopped onion
- Mix in the lightly beaten eggs and grated Parmesan cheese
- Season with salt, oregano, parsley and pepper
- Mix everything very well
- Add the wheat flour little by little and knead with your hands until you get an even meat mixture
- Open the meat mixture over a lightly oiled sheet of aluminium foil
- Cover the opened meat with the slices of ham and mozzarella
- Spread the carrot, boiled eggs, olives and sliced onion over the top
- Roll the meat with the help of the aluminium foil, shaping it into a rocambole-style roll
- Transfer the roll to a rectangular baking tray
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 25 minutes
