1/2 onion
1 bay leaf
1 whole clove
1 cup long-grain brown rice
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups boiling water
Where to find ingredients
All ingredients are commonly available in standard grocery stores and supermarkets. Long-grain brown rice can be found in the grains aisle; dried bay leaves and whole cloves are found in the spice section.
Preparation method
- Keep the half onion whole.
- Attach the bay leaf to the onion using the clove as a support.
- Heat the pressure cooker over medium heat without the lid.
- Add the olive oil, the assembled onion, and the rice.
- Season with salt.
- Sauté the grains for 1 minute so they are coated with the fat.
- Pour in the boiling water and stir well.
- Close the pressure cooker and turn the heat to high.
- Once the pot reaches pressure and begins to hiss, lower the heat.
- Maintain the cooking process for 15 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and let the pressure release naturally before opening the lid.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and serve immediately.
Observations
