Preparation method
- Remove the beef from the refrigerator shortly before starting so it reaches room temperature
- Put the water on to boil over low heat
- Wash the green beans thoroughly
- Remove the ends and cut them into 1.5 cm pieces, using a diagonal cut
- Chop the onion into 1 cm cubes
- Peel and finely chop the garlic
- Heat a large pot or skillet over medium heat
- Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and spread the ground beef in small portions in the pot
- Let the beef brown without stirring for 1 minute
- Season with salt, pepper, and sprinkle the flour over the beef
- Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally so the pieces break apart and brown evenly
- Place the browned beef in a bowl and set aside
- Keep the pot on the heat and add the remaining olive oil and the onion
- Add a pinch of salt and sauté the onion for 2 minutes until soft
- Add the green beans to the pot
- Season with salt and pepper and sauté for 2 minutes until lightly browned, maintaining a crisp texture
- Add the garlic, paprika, and cumin
- Sauté for another 1 minute until the aromas of the spices are released
- Pour in the hot water gradually while scraping the bottom of the pot with a spatula
- Return the ground beef to the pot
- Cook for another 2 minutes until the sauce thickens
- Serve immediately
Observations
This dish is an excellent option for everyday meals, balancing the protein of the beef with the crunch and freshness of the green beans. Follow the instructions to ensure the meat browns perfectly before adding the vegetables.
