Preparation method
- Prepare the caramel by melting the 2 tablespoons of sugar in a large bundt pan
- Spread the caramel evenly over the bottom and sides of the pan
- Slice the bread rolls into approximately 2 cm thick pieces
- Arrange the bread slices in the bottom of the caramel-lined pan
- In a blender, combine the milk, eggs, and 2 cups of sugar until smooth
- Stir the lemon zest into the mixture
- Pour the mixture over the bread pieces in the pan
- Bake in a preheated oven in a water bath for 30 minutes
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before carefully inverting onto a serving plate
