Ingredients

400 g ground beef (lean cut)
1/2 onion
1 clove of garlic
200 g green beans (about 20 pieces)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon sweet paprika
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1 cup water
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Take the meat out of the refrigerator a little before you start so it reaches room temperature
  2. Bring the water to a boil over low heat
  3. Wash the green beans well
  4. Remove the ends and cut them into 1.5 cm pieces using a diagonal cut
  5. Dice the onion into 1 cm cubes
  6. Peel and finely mince the garlic
  7. Heat a large pot or skillet over medium heat
  8. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and spread the meat in small portions around the pan
  9. Let the meat brown without stirring for 1 minute
  10. Season with salt and pepper and sprinkle the flour over the meat
  11. Cook for 5 minutes
  12. Stir occasionally so the pieces break apart and brown evenly
  13. Transfer the browned meat to a bowl and set aside
  14. Keep the pan over the heat and add the remaining olive oil and the onion
  15. Add a pinch of salt and sauté the onion for 2 minutes until it becomes soft
  16. Add the green beans to the pan
  17. Season with salt and pepper and sauté for 2 minutes until they lightly brown
  18. Keep the texture crunchy
  19. Add the garlic, paprika, and cumin
  20. Sauté for 1 more minute until the spices become fragrant
  21. Pour the hot water in gradually while scraping the bottom of the pan with a spatula
  22. Return the ground meat to the pan
  23. Cook for another 2 minutes until the sauce thickens
  24. Serve immediately
