2 tablespoons sugar (for the caramel)
3 stale dinner rolls
500 ml milk
3 whole eggs
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon lemon zest

Preparation method

  4. Arrange the bread slices in the bottom of the caramel-lined pan
  5. Beat the milk with the eggs and 2 cups of sugar in a blender until smooth
  6. Stir the lemon zest into the liquid
  7. Pour the mixture over the bread pieces in the pan
  8. Bake in a preheated oven in a water bath for 30 minutes
  9. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before carefully unmolding
