Ingredients

1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 onion
1 bay leaf
1 whole clove
1 cup long-grain brown rice
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups boiling water

Preparation

  1. Keep the onion half whole
  2. Secure the bay leaf to the onion using the clove as a support
  3. Heat the pressure cooker over medium heat without the lid
  4. Add the olive oil
  5. Add the prepared onion
  6. Add the rice
  7. Season with the salt
  8. Sauté the grains for 1 minute so they are coated in the oil
  9. Pour in the boiling water
  10. Mix well
  11. Close the cooker and increase the burner heat
  12. Once the cooker reaches pressure and starts to whistle
  13. Lower the heat
  14. Maintain the cooking for 15 minutes
  15. Turn off the heat
  16. Let the pressure release naturally before opening the lid
  17. Fluff the rice with a fork
  18. Serve immediately
