Where to find ingredients
You can find these ingredients at local markets or supermarkets. For the Japanese broccoli and mushrooms, greengrocers are the best choice. As a substitute for Japanese broccoli, you can use regular broccoli florets.
Preparation method
- Cook the spaghetti no. 8 in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare the vegetables: steam the carrot, bell pepper, onion, and Japanese broccoli in a covered pot with 1/2 cup of water and the dissolved vegetable bouillon cube. Cook until they are tender yet still crisp.
- Season the beef strips with salt only.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat a small amount of vegetable oil (if using) and brown the beef strips.
- Add the browned beef to the pot with the steamed vegetables.
- Prepare the sauce: in a separate saucepan, combine the ready-made yakissoba sauce, soy sauce, sunflower oil, and the 500 ml of water.
- Dissolve the cornstarch in a small amount of cold water and add it to the sauce mixture. Also, add the beef bouillon cube.
- Bring the mixture to medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.
- Add the thickened sauce to the pot containing the meat and vegetables. Stir well and let it simmer for a few minutes, stirring occasionally.
- If desired, add sliced mushrooms.
- Serve the meat, vegetables, and sauce mixture over the cooked spaghetti.
