Preparation method
- Cook the potatoes in water until tender
- Peel the potatoes and pass them through a masher while still hot
- Add the all-purpose flour gradually and the salt, kneading well until you get a homogeneous dough
- Place the dough on a floured surface and shape it into rolls
- Cut each roll into pieces approximately 2 cm long
- In a large pot, boil plenty of salted water
- When the water boils, add the gnocchi a few at a time, waiting for them to float to the surface
- Prepare a basin with cold water and a colander
- Remove the cooked gnocchi with a slotted spoon and place them in the colander for a thermal shock
- Repeat the process until all the dough is cooked
- Drain the gnocchi well and reserve in a baking dish
- Finely chop the onion and sauté in a pan with olive oil
- Add the ground beef and beef bouillon cubes to the sautéed onion
- Stir well and, after the meat is cooked, add the tomato sauce
- Let the sauce cook for 4 more minutes
- Pour the meat sauce over the reserved gnocchi
- Sprinkle grated cheese on top
- Bake in the oven until golden and bubbly
- Serve hot
