Preparation method
- Trim the ends off the plantains and peel them
- Cut each plantain in half lengthwise
- Cut each half in half again lengthwise
- If the strips are too thick, cut them into three pieces
- Slice each piece of plantain into cubes of approximately 1 cm
- Heat a large, non-stick skillet over medium heat
- Add the oil to the skillet
- Place the chopped plantains in the skillet and season with a pinch of salt
- Sauté the plantains for about 6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are lightly caramelized
