4 eggs
2 cups (240g) sugar
3 tablespoons (45g) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup (240ml) milk
2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
1 cup (120g) fine cornmeal
4 teaspoons (16g) baking powder

Preparation method

  1. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form in a mixer
  2. Add sugar while continuing to beat
  3. Add the egg yolks
  4. Add the softened butter
  5. Add the milk
  6. Add the all-purpose flour and fine cornmeal
  7. Continue beating until a homogeneous batter is obtained
  8. Gently fold in the baking powder using a spoon or spatula
  9. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking pan
  10. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F)
  11. Bake for about 30 minutes
