Ingredients

4 eggs
2 cups (tea) of sugar
3 tablespoons of margarine
1 cup (tea) of milk
2 cups (tea) of all-purpose flour
1 cup (tea) of fine cornmeal (fubá)
4 teaspoons of baking powder

Preparation

  1. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form
  2. Add the sugar while continuing to beat
  3. Mix in the egg yolks
  4. Add the margarine
  5. Pour in the milk
  6. Add the all-purpose flour and the cornmeal
  7. Continue beating until you obtain a smooth batter
  8. Gently fold in the baking powder using a spoon or spatula
  9. Transfer the mixture to a previously greased baking pan
  10. Place in a preheated oven at 180°C
  11. Bake for about 30 minutes
